Eelke Kleijn Enters the Indie Dance Realm with His Brand-New Album: ‘Connected’

May 2, 2025 – Genre-defying Dutch DJ and producer Eelke Kleijn’s highly anticipated fifth studio album, 'Connected', is out now via DAYS like NIGHTS/Armada Music. The album marks a new chapter in his creative journey, fusing his progressive house roots with a fresh dive into the indie dance sphere. With 'Connected', Eelke explores new sonic territory, leaning heavily into melodic vocals throughout the album – something he’s never done before, setting this project apart from anything in his discography to date.

Coinciding with the album release is a documentary of the same title, offering a rare and intimate glimpse into Kleijn’s personal and artistic evolution. The film traces his journey from his hometown of Rotterdam to the vibrant scenes of Latin America, where he has risen to international stardom. Featuring reflections from longtime manager Jeroen Fontein and Argentine house icon Hernán Cattáneo, the documentary dives into Eelke’s creative growth and the story behind his long-awaited album 'Connected'.

Although the all-vocal album concept was born in 2016, the project has undergone several waves of sonic evolution. What began as a more narrow-minded focus on dance and synthesizers has since expanded to embrace a full spectrum of instruments and sounds. This shift was fueled by the creative block Eelke encountered after years of touring during the post-COVID electronic music boom, prompting him to explore new musical territory.

Reflecting on the album, Eelke Kleijn shares: “Something that I want to achieve with all my albums is that they need to stand the test of time- I hope if anybody listens to it 20 years from now, it will still sound fresh and innovative.”

The 12-track album features the 2023 single ‘Transmission’, which gained international success following a remix by Joris Voorn, as well as lead singles ‘The Way I Feel’ featuring Jamie McCool, and ‘Watching Over Me’ featuring the emotive vocals of Emily Roberts. On May 2nd, Eelke Kleijn will take the stage at Paradiso in Amsterdam for an exclusive live performance of his Connected album. This will be the first time he plays the album live, featuring a unique visual experience where cloth and light merge in a stunning projection.

‘Connected’ is available now on all streaming platforms.
