D.O.D releases new track and shares his life-defining 'Moments'
We sat down with U.K. DJ and producer D.O.D to talk about some of the most memorable moments in his life and career so far. Purely coincidentally, this coincides perfectly with the release of his new track called 'Moments' (feat. The Melody Men). Go have a read!
Can you share the moment when you discovered your love for music during your formative years?
"I’ve always loved music; it’s been a part of my life since I was a toddler. I was first introduced to dance music around the age of 8 when I heard my older brother blasting it out in his bedroom. When he went out, I used to steal his CDs and play them in my room. My obsession with dance music started there."
What moment in your career so far defines you as an artist?
"The moment I’m in right now. I never dreamed of getting this far as an artist. I’m super thankful for being able to do this every day."
What moment helped you realize that music was going to be “it” for you career-wise?
"When my music started getting a lot of live support from DJs. It was almost like one day, the lightbulb went on in my head that I could produce music pretty well. It instantly gave me the confidence that I could do this as a living."
What is the inspiration behind your new track, ‘Moments’?
"I hooked up with The Melody Men and they showed me a bunch of vocals they had written, 'Moments' being one of them. I loved the hook and started playing around with the recording straight away. The record fell into place almost immediately. I always know when I’ve got something good when things move really quick; I had the track finished in two days!"
What music career moment do you find yourself reminiscing about the most and why (or for what purpose)?
Going in the studio with Axwell was definitely a highlight. I’ve loved his music since I was a kid, so it was a great moment for me and my career when he invited me over to Stockholm. I have a lot of fantastic memories throughout my eight-year professional career; I’ve met a lot of awesome people along the way and played to millions of people!
