Armada University with Ableton, Luke Bond, Maxim Lany and ReOrder

Amsterdam Dance Event is on our doorstep again, and nothing beats throwing a huge Armada University happening in our headquarters in Amsterdam during the world’s biggest dance music conference. So on Friday, October 21, we’ll be hosting four hour-long masterclasses from Ableton, Maxim Lany, Luke Bond and ReOrder, as well as two demo drops in the Armada Studios with the artists and our A&Rs. All masterclasses are taught in Ableton Live and offer invaluable information regardless of the DAW you use yourself. As you RSVP, please make sure to select which of the two shifts you prefer.

We will send out the official invites to the grand total of 80 producers around two weeks before the event.

Shift 1

Noon (12 p.m.) - Maxim Lany
1 p.m. - Demo Drop w/ Maxim Lany and Armada Music’s A&Rs

Shift 2

1 p.m. - ReOrder
2 p.m. - Luke Bond
3 p.m. - Demo Drop w/ ReOrder, Luke Bond and Armada Music’s A&Rs

Shift 1

11 a.m.: Ableton Certified Trainer

Ableton Certified Trainer Camiel Daamen kicks off the program with a one-hour masterclass on sound design in Ableton Live. Throughout the course, he’ll be working with MIDI effects and various other creative tools in Ableton Live to help you make the most out of Ableton Live.

Noon (12 p.m.): Maxim Lany

A familiar face in the Armada University space, Maxim Lany imparts why being open-minded toward other genres goes a long way in updating your own sound. The Belgian DJ/producer will run through an older version of his recent single ‘Trippin’’ (with Sylvain Armand and Davina Malek) to show and tell how other music styles inspired him to produce the new, updated version that got released on Armada Music earlier this year. Expect some inspiring anecdotes as Maxim Lany shares a lot of firsthand experience from being a seasoned industry professional.

1 p.m.: Demo Drop w/ Maxim Lany and Armada Music’s A&Rs

Following the two masterclasses, you are invited to drop your demo to get invaluable feedback from Maxim Lany and Armada Music’s A&Rs. Out of those demos, we’ll also pick a handful that will get thoroughly examined by ReOrder and/or Luke Bond in the Armada Studios for some personal feedback.

NOTE: Instructions on how to send in your demo for this demo drop will be included confirmation e-mail when you’re picked to join this event.

Shift 2

1 p.m. – ReOrder

In line with his recently launched Spire Preset Pack for Trance & Melodic Techno, ReOrder will head up this masterclass on wavetable sound synthesis. The Slovak DJ, producer and accomplished sound designer has been one of trance’s staple acts for years, launched multiple preset packs for various synths and now shares his knowledge on sound design so you can create and shape your own sounds whenever your track begs for it.

2 p.m. – Luke Bond

Known for his near-inconceivably impactful signature sound, U.K. DJ and IDMA-nominated producer Luke Bond teaches the fourth and final masterclass. You’ll get an in-depth look into his production process, as well as various tips, tricks and insights that can prove vital to becoming an even better producer. By the end of this masterclass, you’ll know how to create cheeky stadium-quivering bangers like the ones Luke Bond releases on a regular basis.

3 p.m.: Demo Drop w/ ReOrder, Luke Bond and Armada Music’s A&Rs

Following the two masterclasses, you are invited to drop your demo to get invaluable feedback from ReOrder, Luke Bond and Armada Music’s A&Rs. We encourage you to send in your demo at least one week before the event. Out of those demos, we’ll pick a handful that will get thoroughly examined by ReOrder and/or Luke Bond in the Armada Studios for some personal feedback, so be sure to bring along your laptop with the demo’s working project file.
