Vocal Trance

Though some might contest calling Vocal Trance an actual sub genre of Trance music, we would like to vote in favor of arguably the most emotional form of Trance. And therefore, we would like to tell you a little bit about it.

The History of Vocal Trance
Emotional vocals and heartfelt lyrics weren't always a part of Trance music. When the genre first emerged, a massive majority of its tracks were purely instrumental. And even if they did indulge in voices as one of the core instruments, it usually meant using a few repetitive vocal shots as an extra element.

This changed when vocals gradually began to take over the genre. The almost ethereal vocals from (often) female singers began to take on a more prominent role in the music, now sharing the spotlight together with the ever-important melodious aspects of the song. The result was a duet (between both elements) so gorgeous that the beloved combination got to go by its own name: Vocal Trance.

The Characteristics of Vocal Trance
Yes, we reserved an entire paragraph for the characteristics of Vocal Trance, but that doesn't mean it has to contain a huge amount of text. Its characteristics are, after all, quite well-known. The soaring vocal tones of (mostly) female singers are especially leading during the breakdown that's almost always a part of Trance music. And you don't have to fear that the lyrics are about "getting booty" either. Mostly, the lyrics describe personal situations in life, which, combined with the delicate vocals and perfect atmosphere, add greatly to the emotion of the track. If you're a firm supporter of Vocal Trance music, you'll know what we mean.
