New Armada Releases (47)

November 18, 2009
New tracks by M6, Kim Svard, Sophie Sugar, Cerf, Mitiska & Jaren and Ruben de Ronde!

Ruben de Ronde
Grands Boulevards

Though an Armada in-house producer, the 6.5 foot tall Dutch producer surely doesn't need a big stepping stone to end up where he wants to be. Testing his skills on tracks like 'Noir', 'Republique' and translating the sounds of W&W, Push, Simon & Shaker and many others into his remixes, he's one of those backstage producers that keep the variety of sounds alive. More than comfortable switching from nu-generation trance to deep progressive and tasting the feel of cutting edge tech-house, the young Dutchman now brings us 'Grands Boulevards'.

An easy-going progressive track that'll ripple the club's sound waves with a warm and deep sound. Ruben's long legs will see him take big steps on the 'Grands Boulevard' of high class productions, once again showing not to have taken a one way road.

'Grands Boulevards' received remixes by Emmanuel B. and Taras van der Voorde. While Dutch producer Taras went for a salty-flavoured tech-house tune, Emmanual brought a spicy electro- tho pumping flavoured remix to the table.

  3. Grands Boulevards (Taras van de Voorde is in or a little rave now Mix)

Silverback / Ultimatum

Genuinely constructed and based on atmosphere and melody, yet banging away on the dancefloor from the moment it abandons its build-up and unfolds the second chapter in its unwritten construction. By the sounds of it, Mark Sixma's back from never gone. His 'Opus Sectum' and 'Paradise Lost' did more than well this summer, and so did his 'Byte Me' and collab with Willem van Hanegem on 'Origin'. But it's time for two more, to make it through winter.

'Silverback' and 'Ultimatum' will very well do the job. They've got the phat bass, well-constructed ambience and unmistakable M6 sound. Striking down trance, progressive and a hint of techno, Mark once again resides his production-work amongst the indefinable, but most of all original tracks.

Kim Svärd
You And I

Hot out of the cold Scandinavia, straight from Sweden's capital Stockholm, comes a warm breeze of melodic progressive-trance . Roger Shah's opened with this tune in almost every set of his past summer tour and featured it on the second volume of his 'Magic Island - Music For Balearic People' compilation. If Roger says it's good, then it surely is. With Roger Shah on his side, Kim Svärd brings his debut track 'You And I' to the Balearic trance loving masses. 'You and I' finds itself between stuck between uplifting trance and sensitive progressive. Melodic, summery and absolutely stunning

Sophie Sugar

One of trance's finest ladies, Sophie Sugar, looks back onto a decade of hard, soulful work. With trance as her one true love, she ravished the dance floor with 'Call Of Tomorrow', 'Fallen Too Far' and 'Redemption'. Since this lady likes to put herself to the challenge, het latest bit of trial was 'Beside You', her first vocal track. A test she undoubtedly passed.
She's now going back to the instrumental side of trance. 'Together' is Sophie at her best. Melodic and sensitive but at the same time energetic and uplifting, and on top of all that: fit for the dancefloor. US producer Tom Colontonio reworked this baby with a new melody line and heavy bass, surprisingly refined.

Cerf, Mitiska & Jaren
Beggin' You

The most beloved trance trio is back again! Top notch producers Matt Cerf, Shawn Mitiska and the unrivalled vocalist/ songwriter Jaren Cerf have only just overcome the success of their collaboration with Dash Berlin on 'Man On The Run'. But the trio is back in original form, and in perfect shape. 'Beggin' You' manages to tingle the senses and gives you goose bumps in places you never knew you could have them. Like their 'You Never Said' and 'Light The Skies', this one is another heart-breaking beat-ballad. Strong vocals and an outstanding ensemble of warm melodies, delicate beats and loads of feeling.

Cerf, Mitiska and Jaren were lucky enough to have two of the biggest Armada names to remix them. Canadian producer Glenn Morrison, known for his originality in both the progressive, trance and tech-house scene, came up with a warm and dancefloor-seducing remix. Driven by piano, powered by progressive beats. Second on the remix-job is no one less than Armin van Buuren, who premiered the track on Ibiza, where he recorded the Universal Religion 4 mix. His version of 'Beggin' You' is clearly made for dancefloor purposes, with an upfront trance sound and seductive build-up. Armin grabbed the best bits and pieces, and made them come out even stronger.
