t’s no secret that the connections between Armada Music and dance pioneer Gareth Emery have always been strong, with Emery’s collaboration with Bo Bruce (‘U’) being named ‘Tune of the Year’ last year on A State of Trance. Now, the two labels are joining forces, with Garuda Music coming in under the umbrella of Armada Music. The joint venture starts today with the pre-order of Gareth Emery’s upcoming album, ‘Drive: Refueled’ (Released March 3rd, pre-orders start February 10th).
Garuda music has released records from some of the industry’s most influential figures, often spotting upcoming talent early in their careers. Their catalogue includes records from producers such as Ben Gold, Blake Jarrell, Tritonal, M.I.K.E., and of course, Emery himself. The partnership is a logical and exciting new step for both brands, who’ve both reflected the same commitment to music of the highest quality over the years.
Maykel Piron, CEO of Armada Music: “I’ve known Gareth since the ‘early days’. We are proud to work together with one of the best producers in the dance scene. The Garuda imprint fits Armada perfectly, and we feel confident that we can bring the label — together with Gareth’s team — to the next level.”
Garuda was born when Gareth Emery was touring in Indonesia. There he learned about the mythical, bird-like creature from Hindu and Buddhist mythology and was instantly captivated by the idea. Soon after, the new label under the same name was born.
We look forward to the collaboration, and with ‘Drive: Refueled’ on the horizon — and remixes coming in from Deorro, W&W, and Cosmic Gate — we know that this partnership is going to bring something special to the industry. Stay tuned for more releases and information, and stay up-to-date on the websites of Armada Music and Garuda.
