DJ Remy launches his new label: 68 Recordings
The DJ Remy style is hard to define in a few words, but if you like to give it a try, the word 'energy' is the nearest you'll get.
Born and bred in The Hague, Remy got 'infected' with the House virus, during the summer of 1990. After this meaningful summer he came with his first DJ set. At first he became resident DJ of all Silly Symphonies events in the Netherlands. Short after he became the leading man of the Saturday evenings at club Roxy in Amsterdam with as a result Remy got more popular by the day. Since then he performed all over the world, among at 'John Digweed's Bedrock nights in London' and at the world famous 'Twilo nights in New York'.
'Personally I like the variety of styles in performing. From Tech-house to English Progressive and Trance. The most important aspect , in spinning as well as in producing, is 'the flow of energy' in the music. I think the biggest challenge is to play for an audience and to change the style without them even noticing for me.'
Remy's passion for music got bigger and bigger during the summer of 1990. This expressed itself into various new vinyl releases.
In 2003 Remy released his first album 'Bang'. This compilation contained the club hits 'Scrambled' and 'Dustsucker'. In 2004, Remy released 'Fearless' and 'Till You Drop' on the Electronic Elements label of Armada Music together with Roland Klinkenberg. This wasn't without success, 'Till You Drop' became one of the biggest club hits of 2004.
In 2005 you could find Remy at every hotspot again! He was spinning at Dance Valley, Extrema, Crobar/Spirit in New York, Fur in Washington, Ageha in Tokyo, Godskitchen, Turnmills, Guvernmen in Toronto and Amnesia in Ibiza just to name a few. It's also the year in which Remy got a teamed up with Armin van Buuren and his good friend Roland Klinkenberg. Together they produced 'Bounce Back', which you can find at number 8 on the Armin van Buuren 'Shivers' album.
Now, in 2006 Remy is launching a new label; 68 Recordings (his year of birth). The first release on this label is a 2 track EP of Remy himself with deep Techno tunes in the shape of 'Crackdown' and 'Nasty Ho'. The second release is made with Roland Klinkenberg.68 Recordings will represent the style of Remy's DJ sets as he is playing all over the world.Next to his own productions you will find also Remy's favourites at 68 Recordings.
