Classic of the week: Octagen & Arizona – Starburst

June 02, 2013
To create something timeless is a rare gift. Dutch producers Paul Moelands and Thomas Bronzwaer are the lucky ones to share it though. In late 2003, shortly after the kick-off of the Captivating Sounds label, the guys released their ‘Starburst’ E.P.. 10 years later, this one still does what it’s supposed to: blow us away.

Supported by Armin van Buuren, Marco V, Ferry Corsten, Johan Gielen, Dave Pearce, Blank & Jones and many, many more, both ‘Starburst’ and the official B-side, ‘Profound’, became a real hype in trance land. And for good reason. Under their Octagen & Arizona monikers, the guys brought a warm, flowing melody that never alters, a steady build-up that never bores, and the energy that lasts for another decade. ‘Starburst’ was the fourth Captivating Sounds release ever, and more than a sign of the times.

Relive those early years of trance music, and play ‘Stardust’ out loud on Spotify!
