A journey in time: Rediscover Armin's artist albums
With the stunning first single ‘Full Focus’, you already got a little pre-taste of what awaits you on Armin van Buuren’s long anticipated fourth artist album ‘Mirage’ which will hit the stores on September 10th. According to Armin, his new album is the biggest and most extensive project he has ever done. While waiting for the 16 new tracks, we’d like to invite you to a musical journey into time. Let’s have a listen to Armin’s previous artist albums and rediscover what makes them so special.
It was 2003, when 76 minutes divided into 13 tracks caused a quick rise in popularity for the DJ and producer from Leiden. Armin was still rocking the globe with 1997 hit ‘Blue Fear’ and the tender ‘Burned With Desire’, when his ‘76’album established him as an internationally renowned DJ and Producer. His collaborations with Ray Wilson, Krezip, Ferry Corsten, Justine Suissa and Airwave have grown into very special classics, locked in the hearts of many listeners.
Two years later, Armin’s ‘Shivers’ album gave him the opportunity to do a major step into full songwriting. He was the co-writer of most of the lyrics and also grabbed the opportunity to show his multi-styled production skills. This shows in the list of guest vocalists and producers who worked together with Armin on ‘Shivers’. On ‘Shivers’, you’ll find collabs with the famous Dutch pianist and composer Jan Vayne and singers Ray Wilson and Justine Suissa, to name just a few.
2008 was a year all about ‘Imagine’. The album, a perfect combination of beats and electronica with lush chords and songwriting, got stuck on replay in the stereo of thousands and thousands of trance fans. The album features a number of vocals, from the sublime tones of American Jennifer Rene to the rock-friendly sound of Liverpudlian Chris Jones on ‘Going Wrong’. With over 60 million views for the music video on YouTube, Armin’s collab ‘In & Out Of Love’ feat. Within Temptation’s vocalist Sharon den Adel, became the biggest hit out of the album. In the meanwhile, Armin received a Golden Record Award for selling more than 25.000 copies of ‘Imagine’ in The Netherlands.
Of course the diehard fans will have these three must-have albums in their cd-player for years already, but for anyone who still has a gap in their Armin collection, this is your chance to get ‘76’, ‘Shivers’ and ‘Imagine’ for oInly € 4,99 each on iTunes!
