Arnej – The Strings That Bind Us

Fallacy was reigning supreme when Arnej made up the first notes of his new A State of Trance release. There’s no way around it. ‘The Strings That Bind Us’ has such a strong, eerie ambience, that its 9 minutes of pure delusion will send you off to an outside world where nothing but the music matters. Not that Arnej’s trying to delude anyone, creating new sounds and worlds within them, is part of his nature. Thousands – if not millions – of souls have gone lost in the world of Arnej’s productions, with ‘They Always Come Back’, ‘Dust In The Wind’, ‘Tomorrow Never Comes’ and ‘Beginning of the End’ taking soul by soul. After the more uplifting, anti-Arnej track ‘They Need Us’, the Canadian mastermind returns to his deep and dark prog-trance with ‘The Strings That Bind Us’.

Intense, deep-rooted synths swirl inside a maze of strings, intricate vocals effects and the surroundings of melodrama. With ‘The Strings That Bind Us’, Arnej’s back doing the thing he’s best in: creating new worlds with unforgettable, timeless productions.
You’ll find ‘The Strings That Bind Us’ not only on your mp3 player, rocking your stereo or down the clubs, but also on Armin van Buuren’s ‘A State of Trance 2010’.

M.I.K.E. presents New York City Nights Sampler

New York, New York. The city full of inspiration, the city where dreams come true. A melting pot of culture, art, fashion, food and music. This is the city it’s all happening, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It’s also the city that Belgian producer/DJ Mike Dierickx chose as his place of residence and to which he dedicated his new compilation album, ‘New York City Nights’.

To showcase the many exclusive tracks and remixes on the album, M.I.K.E. presents a special Sampler. Three tracks with the Club Elite sound and the New York spirit!

French producers Klems and Liloo provide the first essential tune, ‘Sunset’. A gently flowing progressive tune with deep, trancy waves. David Darimont of Time Axis heads into a more peak-time trance sound with his ‘She’s Calling’ and last but definitely not least we find a new, 2010 remix of M.I.K.E.’s collab with Armin van Buuren, ‘Intruder’. More bass-throbbing, taken over by little electro bits and working towards a pounding heart of a trance break.

Three tracks that represent the M.I.K.E. sound in all its diversity!

Rex Mundi – Opera Of Northern Ocean

Dutch producer Boy Hagemann aka Rex Mundi is a man who certainly needs no introduction when it comes to Coldharbour followers. Already achieving iconic status with his efforts on Perspective and his heroic performance with the lovely Susana on Nothing at All, expectations are always at an extremely high level for a Rex Mundi production on Coldharbour Recordings.

However, in late 2009, he was sewing the seeds to make his mark with one of the premier moments in 2010, by working on “Opera of Northern Ocean”. The results were nothing short of outstanding.

Upon receiving the track, Markus Schulz claimed he had the original on repeat for three days straight! Tongues were wagging following its debut on Global DJ Broadcast, and picked up the Global Selection accolade in its first attempt. The appearance of the original on Las Vegas ’10 solidified its almost immediate iconic status, with many earmarking it as their personal pick for track of 2010.

But with the original soothing the ears of everyone on radio thanks to its deep and melodic beauty, Markus sought out someone who could take these elements and turn Opera of Northern Ocean into a big room monster, fit to grace the stages of the Ultra Music Festival, Trance Energy or Bal en Blanc. And he turned to another Dutch star who has made waves throughout Coldharbour thanks to his remix work on Mike Foyle’s Deadly Nightshade, the hugely talented Phynn.

The Global DJ Broadcast World Tour episode from San Francisco was not just signifiant due to the debut of Markus’ own Dark Heart Waiting, it also featured the first play of Phynn’s take on Opera, and received rapturous receptions straight away. Now a staple in Markus Schulz’s livesets, Phynn’s remix coupled with the original makes Opera of Northern ocean one of the strongest releases in Coldharbour Recordings history.

Now with the release imminent, it looks set to dominate dancefloors throughout the busy Ibiza season and beyond this summer. For Rex Mundi, his iconic story continues to be told.

Magic Island Vol. 3 Album Sampler 01

The third installment of Roger Shah’s audio postcard from the magical island of Balearic Trance has been sent. To give you a little pre-taste of what this new compilation sounds like, the ‘Magic Island: Music For Balearic People Vol. 3’ Sampler is there to introduce you to it.

Volume 3 isn’t only filled with exclusives and songs produced especially for the album, but also features lots of new producer talents. This first Magic Island sampler will introduce you to three of them: Nando, Dejan S. and Iris Deejay. All part of the Balearic minded community.

Serbia may not be the first place you’d have in mind while thinking of white sandy beaches, clear blue water and lazy hours in the sun. But Dejan Subotin proves everyone wrong. When listening to his ‘Behind The Mountains’, the Ibiza feeling takes over, as if right next door. Lush, easy-going progressive trance with a strong and catchy melody.

Fernando Ruiz, better known as Nando, caught the warm sea breeze of Miami in his ‘Third Person’. Nando provides you trance with a rough edge, guitar-driven and big-bassed. Just the way we like it.

To top it off, the first Sampler showcases Spanish producer-lady Iris Dee Jay. Together with Finnish vocalist Maria Opale, Raquel Rodriguez delivers a deep, distortive vocal trance anthem called ‘Leave A Sign’. Melodic, melodramatic and strong.

StoneBridge & Tamara from Flash Republic – Trip’en

The second single of StoneBridge’s ‘The Morning After’ album is a multinational affair. While Swedish producer/DJ provides a slick big room dance theme, South-African singer Tamara Dey knocks everyone down with her killer-voice. ‘Trip’en’ is the follow-up to ‘The Morning After’, the track-title and first single of Stone’s third artist album.

Twenty years of being in music business really haven’t gone to waste. For StoneBridge, it all really started with his remix of ‘Robin S – Show Me Love’. It became so popular, that actually no one knows what the original sounds like. But next to remixing for the superstar likes of Britney Spears, Lenny Kravitz, Robbie Williams and Lily Allen, StoneBridge also earned his spot by producing his originals. ‘Put ‘Em High’, ‘SOS’ and ‘You Don’t Know’ are only just three of the international hits he had – and there’s loads more coming up. For his third artist album, StoneBridge teamed up with a slew of talented vocalists and producers, such as Erire, La Trice and Dayeene.

On ‘Trip’en’, we find the vocals of Tamara Dey of the South-African Flash Republic formation, known for their funky mix of electro-tingled and soul-drenched house music. Tamara is one of South Africa’s most successful female artists, seeing her tracks nominated for three SA Music Awards and hitting the charts time after time.

On ‘Trip’en’, the best of both house worlds combine. An addictive, catchy track that’ll get stuck in your mind instantly.

Da Hool – Bora Bora 2010

Ask anyone about the underground sound of the 90’s and 9 out of 10 answers will be all about ‘Da Hool – Meet Her At The Loveparade’. The 1997, million-selling hit, unequalled and unforgettable, was created by underground pioneer and German producer/DJ Frank Tomiczek. Enamored by the young techno-scene, Da Hool kept on spreading the word, creating one anthem after another. In the meanwhile, the Loveparade and European dance scene was reigning supreme and more and more people became addicted to the magical beat of it.

While the ‘Loveparade’ buzz was still hot, he kicked in another weapon to make the mainstream youth culture of dance move – ‘Bora Bora’. Different and renewing, yet still having that typical ‘Da Hool’ touch. In 2010, the floorsweeper returns in a new version – close to the original but with a little extra spice. A melody to guide you on your way of getting lost in the rhythm, techno-beats that flirt with housy prog and last but not least, a break that gets inside of every vein in your body.

Besides Da Hool’s very own club mix, you’ll also find a club-housy remix of German producer Niels van Gogh on this release. Flashback to the 90’s with this underground revelation!
