Way Out West
Only Love
Download
Way Out West, responsible for legendary productions such as ‘The Gift’, ‘Don’t Forget Me’, ‘The Fall’ and ‘Killa’, is back. Nick Warren and Jody Wisternoff, the producers behind these beauties, have been busy enjoying a bit of solo-work in the past two years. And not just a bit. These two major progressive house names have build a solid career in music. It was only a matter of time though, before both guys would join forces again.
Nick and Jody have had plenty of time to collect their ideas, give their sounds a nice blend and work things out to a full new album. The 4th artist album of Way Out West, ‘We Love Machine’, is set for release in a few weeks. But first up, is ‘Only Love’. As the first single of the album, ‘Only Love’ is set to turn the heads and be sure everyone is aware of Way Out West out there.
‘Only Love’ is a progressive house, break-beat flavoured dance anthem. Soulful, uplifting and playful.
On the remixes we’ve got Glimpse, providing us a groovy down-tempo version of ‘Only Love’, Tejada taking things oldskool down the deep proggy lane and German producer Jerome Isma-Ae aiming for peaktime madness with his melodic but techy big room remix.

Phuture Sound feat. Angie
Come To Me
Download
They don’t say ‘future is now’ for nothing. The sounds of a new generation of trance producers is slowly but steady taking over. Romanian producer Alex Tuduran is one of them. Featured as one of the last tracks on Armin van Buuren’s A State Of Trance 2009 album, there’s no doubting the skills of this fellow. ‘Come To Me’ is what we’re talking about. A constant beat, the right dose of drama and the slick vocals by Angie make ‘Come To Me’ a 6 minute bliss.

Dakota
Roxy ’84
Download
One of the undoubted success stories of 2009 has been the resurrection of Markus Schulz’s Dakota moniker. Following on from the launch of his album, ‘Thoughts Become Things’, and the release of the single ‘Sin City’, as part of his annual Coldharbour Day celebrations, he moves into September with the fourth scheduled release, and one with an interesting background story.
Whilst much of the ‘Thoughts Become Things’ project has been inspired by his continuous worldwide travels over the past 6 years, Markus’ thought process travelled even further back in time, and for one track in particular, he pays homage to his youth.
Having been born and brought up in Germany, Markus emigrated to Boston in the United States when he turned 13 years old. At the weekends, he would travel to New York’s Bronx district, and became fascinated with the breakdancing movement that had become to prevalent in the city during that period. This interest intensified, as he himself was involved with the organisation of several breakdancing parties, many of which he was in control of the turntables, and subsequently, he discovered that becoming a DJ was his destined career path.
‘Roxy 84′ is a reflection of those New York breakdancing grooves, with its very distinguishable melody and bassline an obvious tone throughout. In an era where many of dance music’s barriers where broken and electronic music slowly became accepted, the track pays tribute in a creditable manner.
For remix duties, Markus has recruited a name who has made significant progress in the dance music world over the past 2 years, and who also had the honor of releasing the first single on the Coldharbour Red strand. Sweden’s Marcus Schössow delivers a tough, twisted and dirty interpretation of the original, perfectly suited for the darker moments in a club set. The remix was a highlight of Markus’ recent GDJB World Tour performance at SaSaZu in Prague.
To add a little retro flavour to the package, step up Finnish duo Matti Heininen & Erkka Lempiainen, better known as Michael Cassette. Their remix is a stunning piece of deep-filled grooves, that is sure to receive plenty of attention by both trance and house followers throughout the summer months.

GNX
Gekko / Halfway Home
Download
The speaker lovin’ GNX sound is back! A few months after ‘Copius Cain’, we’ve got two new sturdy trancers on the loose. UK producer Damion Houchen took all the inspiration he could get and took it inside his studio, with ‘Gekko’ and ‘Halfway Home’ as a result. While ‘Halfway Home’ is a clash of progressive electro and uplifting trance, ‘Gekko’ is genuinely constructed around a big room sound- in a mash of mysterious melodic trance, deep progressive and stabby techno. GNX knows how to rock the speakers.
