iTunes Album Of This WeekJuly 21st, 2008
The 24 year old American DJ and Producer Blake Jarrell has been working on his Airmiles this year. From Moscow to Ibiza and from Atlanta to Dubai, he has been there to entertain the crowd with an excellent track selection and charismatic artist performance.
“Concentrate” comes one year after his debut compilation, “Dance Floor Sessions”, last year, which received a great amount of positive feedback from his growing group of fans. Blake has named “Concentrate” after his radio show on DI.FM, where he takes the listeners attention for 2 hours each month with an exploration into sound.
Blake Jarrell is not someone that stares himself blind on one kind of genre, from minimal house to more trancy sounds, “As long as it has the feeling that I`m looking for”, he states, “I see “Concentrate” as a showcase of all of the sounds that I am into and how I am able to work them together in a cohesive and fluid way.”
He has learned a lot in the last year, with touring around the world, playing alongside the highest rated DJs and the biggest and best clubs in the world. Blake’s busy schedule allows him the opportunity to experiment with new tracks and sounds on the crowd, and to play that special track that others might not play. “Connecting with an audience is a delicate task”, says Blake, “you have to balance educating them to new tracks and sounds and entertaining them with more familiar music simultaneously.” “I have tried to capture that ideology and usee that to mix and compile “Concentrate”.
