StoneBridge ‘SOS’ Hits No 1 on DJ MagazineJune 15th, 2007
StoneBridge’s new single, the first one of the forthcoming album Music Takes Me, has been charted on the number one position on the prestigious Hype chart of world`s leading dance magazine DJ Mag!
It’s two years since his last single but Sweden’s superstar DJ StoneBridge makes a highly satisfactory return with SOS, which charts to the top of both the Upfront and Commercial Pop Charts this week at DJ Mag, leaving Moloko’s Roisin Murphy well beaten in second place on both lists.
No relation to even more famous Swedes Abba’s 1975 hit, SOS extends StoneBridge’s run of number ones on the Upfront Chart to four; his first three singles * Put ‘Em High, Take Me Away and Freak On * all stormed to the summit in less than a year, between August 2004 and May 2005. Although he has provided mixes for many major club hits in the interim * most recently helping Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Me And My Imagination and Soul Seekerz’ Party For The Weekend to number one – SOS is his first single for more than two years, and will be followed soon by an album.
StoneBridge has a weekly mix show on America’s Sirius satellite radio network. He started his show last week with Haji & Emanuel’s upcoming single If, and half of that duo, Seamus Haji, provided the main mix of SOS (along with StoneBridge’s own) returning the favour StoneBridge granted when he mixed Haji’s recent hit remake of Last Night A DJ Saved My Life.
