Walsh & McAuley

Walsh & McAuley is the collective name of the increasingly influential Northern Irish live DJ act and music producers Marc Walsh and Ciaran McAuley.

The Walsh & McAuley sound spans a wide range of music styles as both guys have a fanatical ear for music of all genres, although their productions and live sets typically fall into the genres of Trance and Progressive. They are the exciting next chapter in a long line of successful DJ duo combinations and have often been compared to, and collaborated with, their genre-defining compatriots Agnelli & Nelson.

Walsh & McAuley’s steady rise has really gathered pace over the past few years, with countless tracks produced by the duo being signed and released by many successful labels, including tracks featured on albums by the hugely influential Roger Shah, DJ ATB and a collection of Armada albums including Armada’s Top 100 to name but a few.

Alongside their production successes, live performance acts by the guys have included many regular slots around their indigenous Northern Ireland, consistently appearing at the country’s top festival ‘Planetlove’ and club venues, supporting some of the world’s highest-ranking DJ’s along the way, most recently including Roger Shah, First State, Solarstone, Ronski Speed, Kyau & Albert, and Markus Schulz at Northern Irelands super club ‘Lush’ in Portrush.

With further releases and numerous collaborations coming up in 2010, alongside more big-name producers and vocalists, we will certainly be hearing a lot more from this Northern Irish duo in the near future!

Early Days
Marc Walsh and Ciaran McAuley, two of the Northern Ireland dance music scene’s brightest, young, up and coming DJ/Producers, first met in 2006 when they were pitted, face to face, against each other in competition for the opportunity to play on the White Isle of Ibiza at that summer’s Judgment Sunday.

It would appear fate intervened in the potential rivalry between the pair, and against the odds, the two budding artists set aside their differences and struck up a creative partnership that has gone from strength to strength producing tracks and putting in highly successful DJ sets under the alias ‘Walsh & McAuley’.

It was not long before their talent was noticed by internationally recognized dance label ‘Bittersweet’, a Cloud 9 Dance imprint. With a lot of their earlier tracks signed to ‘Bittersweet’, Walsh & McAuley productions are available to download via all top online stores including iTunes, Beatport and Audiojelly.

Although as individuals the two draw influences from different DJs and producers, as a team they have found a sound that is unique to them and has been stamped on each of their productions.

It is still just the beginning for Walsh & McAuley and the future shows fantastic potential with their productions already receiving ample airplay and support from some of the world’s top DJs including Armin van Buuren, Tiësto and Agnelli & Nelson to name but a few.

2010 has already seen huge, worldwide support for Walsh & McAuley productions, including two Top 10 appearances in Audiojelly’s Top 100 Trance Tunes, for the widely revered tracks ‘Sea of Lights’ and ‘Forgotten’ both featured on Roger Shah’s Magic Island album ‘Music for Balearic People vol 2′.

With many more releases and countless collaborations scheduled with some of the biggest names around, Walsh & McAuley’s rise looks set to continue long into 2010 and beyond!
