Erik de Koning
Erik de Koning, also known as Enrico, has already been an allround dance-producer for 15 years. The public probably know him best from his ‘Waterverve’ track, a production Erik did with Mark van Dale. His production with DJ Jurgen, ‘Higher and Higher’ reached a number 5 position in the Dutch Top 40 chart and was released worldwide. But maybe the trance community is most impressed by his work under the ‘Three Drives’ guise, together with Ton TB. ‘Greece 2000′, ‘Sunset on Ibiza’, ‘Carrera 2′ and ‘Air Traffic’ grew out to be massive club anthems.
For Eric, it all started at Midtown, where he worked with Mark van Dale. There they discovered house music. They bought their own studio, which resulted in a successful track at the end of the nineties: ‘Obscure FM – Michael Jackson is in Heaven Now’ and another solid production called ‘Utter Utter’, under the King Dale guise.
As a radio-dj, Erik co-hoasted the famed ‘Turbulentie’ radioshow on City Radio Rotterdam. But Erik’s musical taste changed and he created a whole own sound, which until this day is still very recognizable. Halfway the nineties, he and his production team were at the foundation of the clubtrance movement. Nearly every dance compilation contained one of Erik’s tracks. Two successful releases on DJ Jean’s ‘It Records’ followed: ‘Dubfoundation – Emotions’ and ‘Club Royale – Loosing Sleep’. That last track has been number on the 1997 dancecharts all summer. Other productions of Erik are: ‘Enrico – Hardclubber’, ‘Partision – No may gustah’, ‘Departement One – Together’ and ‘Mark van Dale – Something going on’. Eric’s remixwork is also being appreciated, with remixed on Blank & Jones, Yves de Ruyter, Cor Fijneman etc.
Since November 2007, Eric has signed an agreement for a range of solo releases on Armada Music, amongst them his ‘Dream Flight’, which was a massive success.
