Zubin Mowlavi, Reza Jahangiri, Boris Borazjani and Farhad Kazemi; all four possessing unique musical talents and influences creating the Departure sound. These four unique individuals channel their passion, drive, and intelligence to churn the creative fires within resulting in an indelible impression on all who encounter their sound. Imagine an 80’s pop icon, a rock star, a progressive house/ trance DJ, and a poet all coming together in one band and you will have a small clue as to the creative forces driving Departure. Musical influences range from sounds that one would hear in eclectic coffee shops, hot sweaty beat-pounding clubs, arena sized concerts, to back yard bands. Their chemistry for collaboration has extended to noteworthy projects including Markus Schulz and Gabriel and Dresden.

In 2004 Departure signed with Armada Records with their first release, ‘She Turns’. They have followed by collaborating with Markus Schulz and Gabriel and Dresden with the release of ‘Without You Near’ and ‘Cause you know’ on Markus Schulz’ ‘Progression’ album.

Departure distinguishes their music by their approach. They compose and produce music by writing the melody, bass line and lyrics while using real piano, guitar and drums. The most exciting element of Departure’s music is that it can be performed live’”creating an unforgettable experience for any club-go’er. Influenced by the intelligence of Paul Van Dyk, the emotion of Muse, the simple elegance of Coldplay and the innovativeness of the Neptunes, Departure sets out to create the ultimate music experience.
